Luis Ortiz made the promise that he will make history by becoming the first Cuban boxer to hold a world title in the Queen division against WBC champion Deontay Wilder.
“The Bronze Bomber” Wilder (39-0-0, 38KOs) will defend his WBC heavyweight title versus undefeated challenger, Luis “King Kong” Ortiz on March 3, in Barclays Center, in Brooklyn, USA.
The two boxers were supposed to fight each other in last November but cancelled due to Ortiz’s the drug test. And now, they are rescheduled to appear on Showtime, in an event that will be presented by PBC.
Despite the fact that Wilder shows an exceptional knockout ratio, Ortiz (28-0-0, 24KOs) is in no way intimidated since he also has a lot of power in his fists. He is perceived as the best and most dangerous opponent for Wilder.
“Deontay has never faced an opponent who has my skills. I am a knockout artist and I have never lost a fight, so Wilder is better to pay attention!” Ortiz said.
“I am a very experienced fighter, but I also have other things. I’m hungry for success, and I’m ready to prove I’m the best heavyweight in the world.
“Deontay is a very good challenge in my career. And although I know that for many, I’m not seen as the favorite in this fight, this evening is going to be historic for Cuban boxing – remember what I said!” Ortiz added.

Wilder knocked down Bermane Stiverne about halfway through round 1 in last November. He did not really want to fight again against Bermane Stiverne, but because Ortiz failed the drug test, his options became even more limited, and Stiverne was the mandatory challenger.
Stiverne had not fought for two years, and that weighed heavily on the balance. More determined than ever, Wilder came out strongly who immediately dictated the fight with his powerful jab, before he placed his terrifying direct right that has knocked down Stiverne once.
From that moment, the fight was already great for Wilder, but Stiverne did not want to give up. He almost immediately joined the canvas a second time in front of a Wilder overflowing with energy. Stiverne got up again, and Wilder then chained with some other devastating bombs.
