Crystal Palace target Malcom Ebiowei will not join Manchester United this summer, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The 18-year-old winger was one of the most exciting young talents in the Championship last season.
United new manager Erik Ten Hag is known for being eager to help young players promote through the levels and provide them with first-team opportunity, however the Dutchman is likely to be satisfied with the results of any of his early transfer action.
“English talent Malcolm Ebiowei is not going to Manchester United. He will sign his contract with Crystal Palace after the medicals are completed this week, it’s a foregone conclusion.” Romano wrote on his Twitter.
“Ebiowei will leave Derby County to join Palace – the contract runs until June 2027.” Romano added.
Ebiowei broke through into the Rams first team, led by Wayne Rooney, last season and played 16 games in the championship.
The Derby County winger scored one goal and two assists during last season, but he attracted the interests of numerous top teams with his standout individual performance.
If Ebiowei had joined United, it’s unlearn whether he would have been view as a first-team option, but the squad is without a doubt short on options in the final third.
Cristiano Ronaldo is the only striker still playing for the team as Edinson Cavani left, though Marcus Rashford, who went through the academy as a No. 9, may move back to that position.
Jadon Sancho, Anthony Elang, Anthony Martial, who disappointed while on loan at Sevilla, and Anthony Martial are just a few of Ten Hag’s many options.
Impressive teenage prospect Alejandro Garnacho is also anticipated to be a part of United’s squad next season. However, the inclusion of Ebiowei would have provided him with an additional choice.
