Despite the warnings about the financial climate due to the coronavirus to be spent, EPL top four clubs Manchester United hopes that they can buy young and talented players this summer.
However, United has insisted that they will not be rushed for their summer transfers despite Borussia Dortmund setting a deadline for main target Jadon Sancho to leave the club.
United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already had an £89m bid rejected for Sancho, and he has yet to submit an offer so far.
According to reports, Sancho’s initial contract with United will be worth £140,000, per-week but could rise to £200,000, per-week further into the deal.
“This transfer window is a long one and every transfer takes its course. It is what it is. We are always looking to improve the team and squad. At the moment I have no updates for you, if there’s any news we’ll update you.” Solskjaer said.
United secured a third place finish, the second-highest league position since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013, and the Red Devils clinched Champions League with their 0-2 win over Leicester City.
“It’s massive. You can see when Sir Alex [Ferguson] won the Premier League for the first team that was the start of the Premier League era.” Solskjaer said.
“For me when I won my first trophy as a player it made me more hungry. You saw the highs of it and how much it meant to everyone.
“As a coach I won the league the first time with Molde, first time for the club in their 100-year history, and since then they have won it four times in eight or nine years. It was a big change in that club and for me if we can get our hands on a trophy it’s a big step forward.” Solskjaer added.
