Marquez Opens to Chance of Returning to Honda

Gresini Racing racer, Marc Marquez, gave a brief idea about his future in MotoGP. The racer who has had a career for 11 years at Repsol Honda has inked gold with this Japanese factory team. With Honda, he won 6 MotoGP titles. But in the last two seasons, he has had difficulty competing at the front.

Marquez, who decided to move to the satellite Ducati team for next season, did not rule out the possibility of returning to Honda. “Honda will always be in my heart,” said Marquez as quoted by Marca from Honda Thanks Day in Japan. “I hope to return here one day as a Honda rider. I am happy to be here once again on Honda Thanks Day,” said Marquez.

However, Marquez still cannot provide certainty about his return to Honda. He will look at opportunities that will occur in the next year and future opportunities. Together with Gresini, Marquez is bound by a one year contract, which means that various possibilities could occur in 2024.

“However, we’ll see whether we will meet again in the future,” said Marquez. “There is no doubt that in these 11 years, with 6 world titles won together, we have achieved something fantastic,” he continued.

Marquez’s move to Ducati was initiated because it was difficult for Honda to compete at the front of the MotoGP competition in the last two seasons. Apart from that, Marquez’s contract ends in 2024 with Honda, but he ended it early ahead of the 2023 Mandalika MotoGP.

The Baby Allien, who still has a great desire to win the MotoGP title, is trying to find a solution for himself. The Spanish racer moved to Ducati to try new opportunities. It is also known that the Ducati factory and satellite teams are superior in MotoGP this season.

This can be seen from the tight competition between Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) and Jorge Martin (Pramac) until the last MotoGP series. “As you know, my goal is to win again and that’s why I have to look for the best solution to achieve it, as I have always done in my career,” he explained.

Together with Gresini, Marquez has recorded a good record at the Valencia test for MotoGP 2024. The new Gresini rider managed to finish the test in fourth position. He recorded a time of 1:29.424.
