McLaren Boss Zak Brown has proposed to face Mercedes boss Toto Wolff, in a boxing match. The idea is part of the action package for promoting the Las Vegas GP, which has returned to the Formula 1 calendar.
Another who also ended up being challenged was Red Bull boss Christian Horner. In this case, Brown challenged him to a race at Silverstone circuit, in England.
“We were talking about racing Christian (Horner) in Silverstone, because I used to race against Christian,” Brown told Sky Sports.
“And I’ve talked to Toto about it, we’ll see if he’s up for it. When we go Vegas, what’s Vegas known for? A little boxing match? I’m ready.” Brown added.
It is unclear whether Horner and Wolff will do what Brown suggested. As indicated, it is still quite a while before the Las Vegas Grand Prix is scheduled for the first time.
This season, McLaren will be competing for the first time with a car that was developed using the newly built wind tunnel.
The Las Vegas GP returned to the F1 calendar after 41 years, and publicity was intensified with different marketing actions.
This year’s race is scheduled for November 19, the circuit will be set up on the street and will pass through different tourist attractions in the city.
The race will be the penultimate on the 2023 calendar. After three races, Max Verstappen, from Red Bull Racing, leads the race.
While Verstappen teammate Sergio Perez is seconnd and Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso is currently in third place in the general classification.
Even though Mercedes didn’t live up to their own standards after 2022, McLaren is miles apart from the Silver Arrows. But even the established British racing team is falling short of its own promises.
