Messi: Playing at Empy Stadium will be scary

Barcelona star Lionel Messi considers playing in an empty stadium as in the corona virus pandemic now considered scary.

The 2019/2020 Spanish League competition was allowed to roll back during the Covid-19 outbreak but with a record held without spectators.

According to Messi, playing without their loyal supporters, especially at home games, will feel strange and creepy.

In addition, these conditions will also be a separate challenge for each player. Therefore, Messi asked his team-mates to prepare mentally to compete without the support of the audience.

“There is talk of completing the Spanish League this season without an audience, it will provide a challenge. I have to do it [preparation] for the home match, and it was really scary,” Messi was quoted as saying by Sportskeeda.

“But it’s normal that the league will come back this way after everything we’ve experienced. With everything that’s happening in the world, that’s understandable,” Messi added.

In Messi’s eyes the return of La Liga competition this season during the corona virus pandemic was like the start of a new season.

Currently the Spanish League clubs are preparing themselves to continue the 2019/2020 La Liga season, which was stopped due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

“We all wonder, when we will return to work, when we will start training and compete again,” Messi said.

“When we go back to playing, it will be like starting from scratch,” Messi added.

According to the Argentine striker, the two-month break gave the injured Barcelona stars the chance to recover.

Blaugrana players who recovered in quarantine last period are: Luis Suarez, Sergi Roberto, and Arthur. At present only Samuel Umtiti and Ousmane Dembele are still undergoing treatment.

“We will have time to get ready before the league starts, and we also get back key players who were previously injured,” Messi said.

“Technically this is still the same season, but I think every team and player will feel it differently,” Messi continued.
