West Ham supporters sang a ridiculous song against Eden Hazard during a Chelsea match against West Ham on Monday (8/4/2019). It is due to the rumor of the player’s move to Real Madrid.
Hazard continues to be linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer. The issue was further strengthened because Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane openly said that he had admired Hazard for a long time.
The Belgian star has been linked with a £100million transfer to Real Madrid – a move which looks increasingly likely given that Zinedine Zidane has returned to the Bernabeu, along with the fact that Hazard will be out of contract in summer 2020.
However, Chelsea will certainly fight as hard as possible to keep this important asset amid a transfer ban from FIFA.
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher gave his opinion that it was natural that Hazard continued to be linked with Real Madrid.
“I think Hazard is one of the best players in the world and the best player in the world plays for Madrid or Barcelona, not Chelsea,” Carragher added. According to Carragher, Hazard needed to add experience to his career by joining Madrid to complete his perfect career.
However, the Belgian winger insists he is currently focusing on Chelsea after rejecting mockery from West Ham supporters.
“They were wrong. Right now I’m just focusing on Chelsea to end the competition by finishing fourth in the standings and winning the Europa League,” Hazard was quoted.
“The big four and the Europa League are our targets so we have to fight well to make it happen,” Hazard added.
The match against West Ham proved the quality of Hazard by scoring two Chelsea goals. Hazard’s first goal was considered extraordinary because the winger was able to pass five West Ham players before beating goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.
The win lifted Chelsea to third in the Premier League for the first time since December.
Hazard has been directly involved in 11 goals in his last 10 Premier League matches with Chelsea.
Eden Hazard was brought in by Chelsea from Lille in 2012 with 32 million pounds. The player who is now 28 years old managed to pack 106 goals from 341 appearances with the Blues.
