Neymar is banned from playing three Champions League matches over ref rant

Neymar is certain he will not play in the next three Champions League matches after UEFA sentences related to uploads on social media.

The Brazilian national team wrote blasphemy and insults on the referee and assistant referee after Paris Saint-Germain lost to Manchester United in the second leg of the Champions League final this season.

Neymar, who at the time did not play because he was still in injury recovery, considered a penalty in the final minute given by referee Damir Skomina for Man United inappropriate.

In the final minutes of the match between PSG and Man United at the Parc des Princes Stadium, Skomina considered the ball from Diogo Dalot to hit the hands of Presnel Kimpembe. The match stop to give time for Skomina to see a replay through the video assistant referee (VAR).

Skomina gave penalty to Man United and was not wasted by Marcus Rashford who changed the position to 3-1 for the Red Devils. In aggregate both teams drew 3-3, but Man United had an away goal advantage. Because of the penalty kicked by Marcus Rashford, PSG was eliminated from the Champions League

For PSG, the defeat of Man United made the French champions always fail to step into the quarter-finals since the 2016/2017 season.

“This is a shameful act. They have four people who don’t know soccer to analyze [VAR] in slow shows and they keep giving it [penalty] / That’s not a penalty. How can it be a handball when it hits the back?,” Neymar wrote on his Instagram account accompanied by rough curses.

The former Barcelona player revealed his disappointment to the referee in charge of the match, Damir Skomina. Neymar looked very unhappy when Skomina decided to give Man United a penalty in the 90+ 4 minutes.

UEFA’s body of control, ethics and discipline considers Neymar’s writings to be insulted by match officials as stated in article 15 paragraph 1 letter D regarding the regulation of UEFA’s discipline and thus sentenced him to ban three matches in European competition next season.

Seeing PSG’s position at the top of the standings, then Neymar will certainly compete in the Champions League next season.

Neymar was sidelined for the second half of the season, so he couldn’t defend PSG in the game against Man United, returning to grazing last weekend Registered as a substitute, Neymar just entered in the second half replacing Layvin Kurzawa.
