Nikola Jokic Scores 41 as Heat Beat Nuggets to Tie NBA Finals

The Miami Heat on Sunday defeated the Denver Nuggets 111-108 away from home, tying the NBA Finals despite an outstanding performance by Nikola Jokic.

The star was the main name of Game 2, but it was not enough for the Colorado team to open up more advantage in the decisive series. Then, with the Heat stealing the game, the series goes to Florida tied 1-1.

Jokic was the scorer of the Nuggets and of the match with 41 points over the Heat. Moreover, the pivot grabbed 11 rebounds and distributed four assists.

However, the Serbian did not have the same contribution from his teammates as in other games. That’s because, the second highest scorer was Jamal Murray, who finished with 18 points and ten assists.

But it was with the strategy of trying to reduce the volume of other rival players that Miami sought victory. Giving Jokic more opportunities to score, he focused on neutralising Denver’s sidekicks.

Thus, even without any major individual highlight, Erik Spoelstra’s side managed to surprise the Nuggets in the last quarter.

Gabe Vincent, meanwhile, was the main scorer for the visiting team. The point guard scored 23 points.

Jimmy Butler, who was well marked throughout the match, was only disenchanted in the last half. With important balls in the final minutes, he finished with 21 points and nine assists.

Likewise, Bam Adebayo had an important presence on both sides of the court. The pivot had 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds, and to two blocks.

Max Struts on the other hand, the wing guard, after all, was bad in the first game and didn’t even score. However, he had a great start to Game 2, scoring 14 points in the first half, with four balls from the perimeter in seven attempts. But he lost pace in the second half. Then, he finished with the 14 points and six assists.

The Heat recovered in the final period, opened up the lead and managed to hold the home team after trailing for two quarters. As a result, it will take the tied series home.
