Ten Kate Racing Yamaha rider Stefano Manzi won the second WorldSSP race of the Pirelli Emilia-Romagna Round in Misano on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Nicolo Bulega and Marcel Schrotter crossed the finish line in second and third place.
At the start it was Federico Cariscasulo who took the lead and after several position changes in the first lap came through as leader ahead of Yari Montella, Marcel Schrotter and Glenn van Straalen.
The race was already ended for Raffale de Rosa, Yuta Okaya, and Maximilian Koffler at that point due to a crash, but Okaya was able to continue the race at a significant disadvantage. Harry Truelove followed in the second round, the Briton also crashed.
Caricasulo, Bulega and Montella alternated regularly at the front of the field as leaders while Manzi came through the front at a rapid pace and was soon up to fourth.
Montella then fell back to eighth place while Caricasulo also went wide a little later and had to give up quite a few places. In this incident, the Italian came into contact with Van Straalen when he returned to the track.
The Dutchman initially seemed to limit the damage, but the EAB Racing Team rider still crashed. Van Straalen was able to pick up his machine and continue his race, but a top ranking went up in smoke.
While Manzi managed to move into second place at the expense of Marcel Schrotter, going a little further back in the track with his Ten Kate Racing Yamaha teammate Jorge Navarro, the Spaniard crashed and saw his race come to an early end.
The race was also over for Montella, who had started this race strongly, after six laps, the Italian sent his machine into the pits with a technical problem.
Halfway through the race it was Bulega in the lead with Manzi on his rear wheel and followed at some distance by Schrotter, Caricasulo and Bahattin Sofuoglu, who had meanwhile moved up to fifth place.
With three laps remaining, Bulega was still in the lead, with Manzi closing in on him and Schrotter close behind in the battle for first place.
Caricasulo took fourth place, five seconds behind, while Adrian Huertas had taken over fifth place from Sofuoglu, who had fallen back to seventh place.
Manzi got back the lead on the final lap, but Bulega quickly recovered a corner later.
However, Bulega made a small mistake, and immediately Manzi struck again. Bulega then tried again, but it was Manzi who crossed the finish line first.
