Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) achieved a sweet victory when they visited Olympique Marseille’s headquarters in the 27th French League 2023-2024, on Monday (1/4/2024). Playing at the Velodrome Stadium, Marseille, France, PSG actually won with a score of 2-0.
PSG’s two winning goals were scored by Vitor Ferreira in the 53rd minute and Goncalo Ramos in the 85th minute. Interestingly, PSG actually played with 10 players from the 40th minute.
This was because Lucas Berarldo was given a second yellow card at the end of the first half in that match. In fact, PSG at that time was having difficulty finding weak points in Marseille’s defense.
The lack of players made the home team dominate the match. In fact, it could be said that PSG’s defense line was bombarded by Marseille players.
Because, in that match Marseille fired at least 20 shots, of which 10 were right at PSG’s goal. Amazingly, the PSG goal guarded by Gianluigi Donnarumma was well protected.
PSG, which only had 8 chances, actually managed to score two goals. Amazingly, the goals contributed by Ferreira and Ramos came in the second half, when PSG were already playing with 10 players.
Of course the results were extraordinary. PSG also has the right to take home three points from Marseille headquarters.
With the 2-0 win, PSG became more comfortable at the top of the 2023-2024 French League standings. PSG leads with 62 points, 12 points ahead of Brest who is in second place. Meanwhile Marseille is in seventh place with 39 points.
