Pacquiao: “I’m Not Finished Yet”

Ahead of how fight on August 21 on PPV, in Las Vegas, Many Pacquiao spoke about his fight with Errol Spence Jr. as an opponent.

Spence Jr, 27-0 (21 KOs), is a 31-year-old American who has stopped all but six of his opponents to date.

He captured the IBF welterweight bell from Kell Brook in 2017 and subsequently made two brutal defences as he comfortably outclassed Lamont Peterson and Carlos Ocampo.

“I could have fought several easy opponents in recent years. I chose the best opponent because I want to add a new line to my legend. I have to prove that I’m not finished yet.” Pacquiao said.

Pacquiao, who during his long career has won 62 times, with 7 losses and 2 draws, is fighting for the first time since his victory against Keith Thurman in July 2019. He then captured the WBA welterweight belt, from which he was deposed six months later, for lack of having subsequently defended it.

“It’s been two years since I got in the ring and it was good for me to have this rest. So much inactivity has helped my body and my mind a lot. This time, I am more excited than ever and I have the impression of being young again,” Pacquiao said.

“I want to fight and bring honor to my country. At the same time, I’m also here to prove to myself that I can still do it at 42. I have a lot of advantages in this fight, however analyzed the Filipino. My speed and power, as well as my strategy and experience.” he added.

Pacquiao and Spence Jr are worthy opponents. It is difficult to predict which of the boxers will win.
