A top TV host Piers Morgan has revealed what Cristiano Ronaldo told him when He left Manchester United.
Ronaldo is currently a free agent after he agreed to leave Manchester United on mutual consent following his incendiary interview with Morgan.
“I texted Cristiano a GIF of William Wallace in Braveheart shouting: ‘Freedom! He thought that was a perfect summation of how he felt. ‘Free as a bird’ was his response.” Morgan said.
“He thinks that if he does well at this World Cup, he’ll get what he really wants, which is a club in the Champions League that extends his record and his legacy.”
“It’s not about money at this stage of his career. It comes down to a burning desire to play football at the highest level, to break records and win trophies. And he has done that in more countries than any other player in history.” Morgan added.
United on November 22 announced, the exit of Ronaldo, with immediate effect. In a short statement, the Red Devils said the termination of the contract with the Portuguese international by mutual agreement.
“Cristiano Ronaldo leaves Manchester United by mutual agreement with immediate effect. The club thanks him for his immense contribution during his two spells at Old Trafford.” United said in a statement.
