Manchester United won 3-2 over Tottenham Hotspur in the 29th week of the English League at Old Trafford Stadium, Saturday (12/3). Cristiano Ronaldo scored a hat trick in that match.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s ‘rocket’ kick in the 12th minute brought Man United 1-0 up. The goal started with Fred’s short pass to Ronaldo on the Tottenham field of play.
From outside the penalty box, CR7, who was not guarded by Tottenham players, chose to shoot long distances with his right foot. The ball from Ronaldo slid towards the right side without being able to reach goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
Ben Davies scored in the 18th minute. However, the goal was disallowed because Davies was first in an offside position.
Tottenham continue to try to score a goal in return. In the 26th minute Matt Doherty’s header was saved by Diogo Dalot who was standing under the bar.
In the 34th minute Tottenham got a penalty after Alex Telles was considered for handball after holding a kick from Dejan Kulusevski.
Harry Kane who took the penalty without difficulty scored the equalizer in the 35th minute. David de Gea could read the direction of Kane’s ball that went to the right, but could not block it.
Three minutes later, Man United responded by scoring a goal back. Ronaldo scored the second goal of the game in the 38th minute.
Starting with Nemanja Matic’s breakthrough pass to Jadon Sancho, the England star then passed the ball to Ronaldo. Calmly Ronaldo put the ball into the Tottenham goal even though it hit Lloris’ leg.
In the 61st minute, Son Heung Min missed Tottenham’s chance to equalize. Dejan Kulusevski provided a mature pull bait to Son in the middle of the Man Utd penalty box.
However, Son’s execution was not perfect. The South Korean striker’s right foot kick was still sideways on the left side of De Gea’s goal.
Tottenham again forced the score to 2-2 in the 72nd minute after Harry Maguire scored an own goal. Maguire’s effort dispelled Sergio Reguilon’s cross into his own net.
Ronaldo almost scored a hat-trick in the 77th minute if his shot was not parried by Lloris.
The hat trick that Ronaldo had been waiting for was created in the 81st minute. Alex Telles’ bait through a corner kick was completed by Cristiano Ronaldo with a header into the top left corner of the Tottenham goal.
Without additional goals in the remaining matches, Man United won 3-2 over Tottenham.
