Premier League Results: Man Utd Beat Newcastle 3-1

Manchester United won a 3-1 victory over Newcastle United in the Premier League continued match at Old Trafford, Monday (22/2).

Newcastle again spread threats in the 27th minute. Miguel Almiron fired a speculative shot from outside the penalty box which De Gea could anticipate.

Newcastle became the first team to get the opportunity to score a goal in this match. Joelinton fired a shot that changed direction because it hit a Man Utd player but was still thwarted by David de Gea.

Man Utd just got the first chance in the 29th minute. Man Utd’s chance came from Aaron Wan-Bissaka who fired a left-footed shot but was too weak to easily secure Karl Darlow.

Man Utd, who appeared unexpectedly unconvincing, won 1-0 first in the 30th minute. Rashford took individual action and then fired into a narrow corner that rattled the Newcastle goal.

Newcastle needed only six minutes to make the score 1-1. The ball that Harry Maguire threw away was immediately struck by Allan Saint-Maximin with a hard shot that lodged into De Gea’s goal.

At the start of the second half, Saint-Maximin again spread threats against Man Utd. This time, he fired a little hard from outside the penalty box which De Gea was lucky to still read.

Man Utd finally got ahead 2-1 in the 57th minute. Daniel James hard shot from inside the penalty box nested into the left corner of Darlow’s goal.

Two minutes later, Man Utd again threatened the Newcastle goal. Martial, who penetrated the penalty box, fired a shot which Darlow could still push away.

In the 74th minute, Man Utd gets a penalty after Joe Willock fouls Rashford. Fernandes, who progressed as the executor, did his job perfectly to make the score 3-1.

After that, Man Utd got several other chances but couldn’t convert them to goals. The 3-1 score for the Red Devils’ victory over Newcastle did not change until the second half ended.

Thanks to this positive result, Manchester United is now ranked second in the Premier League standings with a point of 49. They are 10 points behind Manchester City who occupy the top position. Meanwhile, Newcastle occupies the 17th position with a collection of 25 points.
