Premier League Results: Tottenham Draw 10 Players Liverpool

Liverpool were matched by Tottenham Hotspur 2-2 on matchday 18 of the Premier League at the Tottenham Stadium, Sunday (19/12).

Early in the first half, Tottenham, who played at home, immediately appeared impressive. Even when the game has only been running for two minutes, Tottenham have been able to threaten Liverpool’s goal. Unfortunately Robertson’s header, which took advantage of Trent’s bait, slipped thinly to the left side of the Liverpool goal, which was escorted by Lloris.

The 10th minute, Trent kicked off hard from outside the penalty box with his left foot. Lloris deftly brushed the ball away. Two minutes later it was Spurs’ turn that threatened with a Kane kick. However, Konate blocked his kick ball. One minute later, Spurs finally scored. Kane got a through ball from Ndombele and escaped Liverpool’s offside trap. He was able to move slightly faster than Konate and fired flat at the far post. Alisson failed to parry the ball. The score changed 1-0 to the advantage of The Spurs.

Spurs got a golden opportunity from a counter-attack in the 16th minute. Kane strikes from the right and crosses at the far post. The ball was greeted by Son’s flick, but his shot was not on target. In the 18th minute, the Spurs got another golden opportunity. Son escaped the offside trap and chased Kane’s pass. Unfortunately in the penalty box he lost control and the ball was secured by Alisson.

Spurs counter-attack in the 30th minute almost led to another goal. Son attacked the right and then released the ball to the left, where Alli came in from the second line. He freely kicked the ball but Alisson brilliantly tipped the ball off the pitch. The 35th minute, Liverpool finally scored. Davies thwarted Mane’s cross but it was caught by Robertson, who then crossed from the left into the center of the box. There was Jota who could freely head the ball. 1-1.

The 36th minute, there was controversy. Jota managed to get into the Spurs penalty box and just as he was about to open fire, he was hit from behind by Emerson. But the referee did not give a penalty. VAR also does not consider it a violation. In the 42nd minute, Liverpool got a chance from Trent’s hard kick from the end of the penalty box, taking advantage of the rebound from his own kick which was blocked by Lloris’s hand. But this time, the ball that went into the bottom left corner still hit the French goalkeeper’s knee and the ball went out of bounds.

During the first half added time, Kane got a chance from Kane. He opened fire after receiving feedback from Sessegon. However, the ball can still be blocked by Morton and Konate. The first half closed with the score 1-1 for both teams.

Beginning of the second half, replace Liverpool who appear impressive. Liverpool had a good chance in the 48th minute. Jota heads Trent’s pass. However, the ball was still thin to the side of the Tottenham goal. Then the 55th minute, Tottenham got a golden opportunity. The long ball from behind to the Liverpool defense was chased by Dele Alli who escaped the offside trap. Alli didn’t shoot but crossed to the left for Kane. The England striker fired home with his left foot but Alisson made a perfect block.

The 56th minute, Kane almost scored again. From a corner to the right of the Liverpool defence, the ball touched several players before sliding to the far post. There was Kane who headed the ball but the round skin only rolled a thin layer over the Liverpool goal.

The 69th minute, the goal was created. Liverpool’s attack caused a bit of chaos in the Spurs penalty box. Robertson found the ball at the far post and Salah failed to head home. The ball then rolled wildly and fed by Trent to the left side of the Spurs defense. There was already Robertson who could easily head the ball into an unmarked goal. 1-2.

But in the 74th minute, Liverpool conceded, Spurs’ long bait was chased by Son who escaped the offside trap. Alisson quickly came out of his post to do a sweep. But he failed to do so and Son was freely able to score goals. 2-2.

Disaster then hit Liverpool in the 77th minute, Robertson was sent off straight away for kicking Emerson. At first he was only given a yellow card. However, after seeing VAR, referee Paul Tierney decided to give him a red card. Unfortunately, the superiority of the number of players was not able to be maximized by Antonio Conte’s team. Despite having a number of chances but unfortunately until the end of the second half nothing was converted into a goal. The Premier League match ended with the score 2-2.

With this draw, Liverpool collected 41 points and stayed in second place in the standings, while Tottenham Hotspurs collect 26 points and are in seventh place in the 2021-22 Premier League standings.
