When almost all the teams and fans of Dota 2 around the world have been on Christmas holidays, China Regional is still very active towards the end of the year.
In the Dota 2 Professional League or DPL event, a professional league specifically held in regional China has entered its sixth season.
Among the 12 teams that followed there were some flashy names such as PSG. LGD, Vici Gaming, and Newbee.
Apart from that Team Aster, a new team but it contains well-known players from the China region who also participated in the tournament after successfully qualifying through open qualifier.
Starting with the group stage which was divided into two, Vici Gaming and PSG. LGD successfully topped the standings which made them more profitable in the playoffs.
Whereas Invictus Gaming, iG.Vitality, EHOME, and Newbee also fought in the playoffs held on December 28.
The winner of DPL Season 6 will get a place at MDL Macau which will be held in February 2019.
So far there have been two teams that get direct invite, namely PSG.LGD and Virtus.pro, the champions of the Kuala Lumpur Major.
There are still three direct invite teams that have not been announced and there are two teams that have passed the qualifications of the China region
PSG. LGD finally decided to withdraw themselves from the DPL Season 6 playoff due to health problems from the players.
In their statement, they claimed to have been very active in training and participating in various tournament qualifications in the past few weeks.
“Because of intensive training and a tight schedule, it takes a certain period of rest for the players’ health,” PSG.LGD said when saying on their Weibo account.
After winning second place in The International 2018, PSG.LGD immediately returned to active by participating in the Kuala Lumpur Major qualification they had won.
Ame and friends also participated in various tournaments in foreign countries such as the PVP Esports Championship in Singapore, the Kuala Lumpur Major, which at that time they had to be satisfied to reach the rank 5-6 and the last MegaFon Winter Clash held in Russia.
The closest tournament they will attend is Chongqing Major held in their own country.
Of course their decision to take a break is expected to be able to restore players’ fitness plus this is a tournament that enters the Dota Pro Circuit, they must get as many points as possible to qualify directly to The International 2019.
