Football superstar Neymar looks sets to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer with both Barcelona and Real Madrid keen to sign him. The Brazilian striker has reportedly grown unhappy wit life in Paris after two injury-plagued seasons.
While Barca will face competition from Madrid for the all-world striker, they have much stronger relationship with Neymar.
Neymar left Barcelona to PSG in a controversial 222 million euro transfer in the summer of 2017. He enjoyed a successful first season in Ligue 1. The 27-year-old striker is currently recovering from ankle injury he sustained while training with his teammates at the Brazil national team which ruled him out of the Copa America 2019.
Speaking to Spanish media, Barcelona midfielder Rafinha would love to see his fellow Neymar back to Camp Nou this summer.
“I would love him to come because what I saw with Neymar, [Lionel] Messi and [Luis] Suarez is something I’ve rarely seen on a football pitch.” Rafinha said.
“The understanding they have is unique, and it’d give the fans a chance to experience it. Personally, I would be delighted [if Neymar signed].” Rafinha added.
Rafinha has struggled to feature under head coach Ernesto Valverde. The Brazilian pent the second half of the 2017-18 season on loan at Inter, making 17 appearances in Serie A under Luciano Spalletti. He missed the rest of the 2018/19 season with Barcelona after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in last November. His contract expires in 2020.
“I have a contract with Barcelona. Last year, in this very situation, I stayed here. I have a contract and I’m very calm.” Rafinha said.
“I’ve come back from an injury and what I want to do most is train with my teammates. I trust myself a lot and if I am okay, the opportunities will come.
“I went to Italy [on loan to Inter], for example, and I had a great time. I know both leagues [La Liga and Serie A] and I’ve adapted to both. I wouldn’t have a problem going to any team.” he added.
