Liverpool are on the verge of recruiting Fulham’s prodigy Harvey Elliott. However, one and a half months later after the Reds victory in the Champions League final, Juergen Klopp’s troops seemed to refrain from recruiting a star player.
Liverpool Echo stated the news that Liverpool will ensure the arrival of Harvey Elliott in the near future. The 16-year-old was the youngest footballer ever to play in the Premier League when he played against Wolves at only 16 years and 30 days in May 2019. Liverpool will recruit Elliot who have appeared three times for Fulham at that young age after his contract ends .
The Reds must compensate Fulham because they actually hope that Elliott stays at Craven Cottage. Harvey Elliott will be the second teenager to be bought by Liverpool after they announced the arrival of a 17-year-old Dutch defender, Sepp van den Berg.
The Reds agreed on a transfer fee of 1.79 million pounds to get the defender whose nicknamed ‘Baby van Dijk’ from PEC Zwolle. Liverpool managed to get Van den Berg after competing with Ajax Amsterdam and Bayern Munich. Van den Berg will play for the Liverpool academy first even though Van den Berg has the opportunity to train with the main team at the start of the season.
The Liverpool Echo reports that Liverpool will not send the versatile winger to the club’s academy headquarters in Kirkby. Juergen Klopp is said to be going to put Elliott directly into the first team.
Integration will take place in stages with the player by giving the opportunity to learn from the Reds first team players at Melwood. Meanwhile, the fact that Liverpool have not yet entered the transfer market has made the media continue to stir up issues.
Currently, there are two reports in Spain that mention that Liverpool are glancing at Duo C. The Reds are said considering to buy back Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona and take part in a hunt to bring in Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos.
Philippe Coutinho still holds the desire to return to the Premier League. Coutinho has not been feeling comfortable in Barcelona after transferring from Liverpool in January 2018 with amount of 140 million.
Manchester United had expressed interest but Coutinho had revealed that he was reluctant to move to the Old Trafford camp because he respected the rivalry between Liverpool and Man United. Chelsea are banned from bringing in new players for the next two transfer windows. Manchester City is full of options in attacking positions. Tottenham and Arsenal seem to have no funds and desire to pursue the 27-year-old attacking midfielder. Liverpool became the only reasonable goal for Coutinho in the Premier League and the Reds reportedly monitored the progress of the player’s situation. Meanwhile, TalkSport said that Liverpool could glance at Dani Ceballos to strengthen the midfield which had become a problematic position last season.
The Spanish Under-21 national team star who won the European Cup Under-21 2019 was unable to penetrate the Real Madrid first team. Liverpool was rumored to be one of the clubs that could become the next port for the midfielder.
Not a permanent transfer, Ceballos is said to still want to fight to get a place under Zinedine Zidane’s care in the future so he only wants to be loaned to the Premier League. “I think Zidane is watching this tournament. However, we all know what’s in his head,” Ceballos said after Spain won the Under-21 Euro. “I want to try something new, my target is to play 40 matches competing in the European club next season.”
One player who appeared to be no longer on Liverpool’s radar was Lille striker Nicolas Pepe. Liverpool are reportedly no longer interested in bringing the 24-year-old Ivory Coast striker who had been predicted to spend 45 million pounds.
