Real Madrid Having Negative Results in Preseason

Real Madrid again getting negative results in preseason. Of the four warm-up matches before the competition rolled out, Madrid had never won a victory normally.

Of the four pre-season matches, Madrid lost three times and once won on penalties. Bayern Munich gave a lesson to Los Blancos in the first preseason match. After beating Arsenal, El Real suffered a severe defeat from Atletico Madrid. Finally, Sergio Ramos and his friends subdued from Tottenham Hotspur.

Zinedine Zidane really maximized the pre-season period as a venue for testing abilities for the players. Except for Ramos, Toni Kroos and Eden Hazard, the former Madrid midfielder played a different starter in four matches.

The coach who had brought Madrid to success in the Champions League from 2016 to 2018 seemed to want to build a core squad on the basis of these three experienced players.

While Luka Jovic, Rodrygo, and Ferland Mendy who are status as new players were given minutes of play and the opportunity to start to collaborate with old faces like Marcelo, Lucas Vazquez, Raphael Varane, Nacho, Isco, Vinicius Junior, and Karim Benzema, including Gareth Bale, who is often reported, will leave.

Up to four matches Zidane still hasn’t found the composition of players who can bring victory. A situation that could have brought Madrid back in a difficult position like last season which ended in failure to win the trophy.

Amid negative results, Madrid certainly still think positively about the season that will take place. Varane, who is often installed as a Madrid doorstop, thinks the club he is defending will be ready when the competition starts.

“I know the expectations that exist. We have to trust the results of our work. We fix physical and tactic. We remain calm and believe in what has been done. I know people want to see change,” Varane was quoted as saying by Marca.

While Zidane chose not to hide behind the test match title. The former Madrid midfielder in the Galacticos era admitted his team was not ready to face the new season.

Expectations of improvement after a dark last season, for a club as big as Madrid, became a big demand for the team. The defeat in preseason was then considered a failure.

Another problem that Madrid found in preparation for the 2019/2020 pre-season was the player’s injury. Thibaut Courtois, Brahim Diaz, Marco Asensio, Mendy, and Jovic entered the treatment room.

Aside from Asensio, who has been ruled out for a long absence, four other players have to take a break until mid to the end of August. These conditions will disturb Madrid who will begin undergoing official competition on August 17.

Before facing Celta Vigo in the first match of La Liga, Madrid will first undergo three match test matches against Fenerbahce (31/7), Salzburg (8/8), and AS Roma (12/8).
