Former Brazilian national team player Ricardo Kaka admits that he prefers to play with Cristiano Ronaldo rather than Lionel Messi. According to him, CR7 -Cristiano Ronaldo’s nickname- has a very big mentality and determination.
As is known, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are two players who have become world football icons today. The competition between the two often leads to debate over who is more deserving of being the GOAT (Greatest of All Time).
Both of them have dominated the Ballon d’Or stage for dozens of years, the most prestigious individual award in world football. Ronaldo is known to have five, while Messi has two Ballon d’Or trophies ahead. In addition to individual awards, the debate over goals and trophy records for the respective clubs and national teams has also become a hot topic.
As a former soccer star, Kaka also highlighted this debate. The former AC Milan player said he did not want to participate in the debate. It’s just that, Kaka gave a positive view of the two megastars.
“I will separate like this (Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo): one is a genius (pointing to Messi) and the other has a very strong mentality (gesturing to Ronaldo),” said Kaka quoted from SportsKeeda, Thursday (26/1/2023 ).
Furthermore, Ricardo Kaka also revealed his choice if Ronaldo or Messi were given the opportunity to become teammates in the present. Firmly, the player who decided to retire in 2017 chose Ronaldo. The reason is, Kaka likes the mentality of the Portuguese superstar.
“Now, if you ask me who I want for my team, I will choose Cristiano. The chance of failure is very small. He is very determined, and focused,” said Kaka. Kaka actually already knew Ronaldo when the two were on the same team at Real Madrid in 2009-2013. The two of them were introduced as new players for Los Blancos -nicknamed Real Madrid – in July 2009. However, Kaka left the club first to return to AC Milan in 2013.
