Rockets can beat Warriors, says Capela

The Houston Rockets celebrated their 116-108 win over the Golden State Warriors on last Saturday. Speaking to media, the Rockets centre Clint Capela told that his team is better and stronger after beating the reigning champion.

“We’re confident because we know if we’re doing what we’re supposed to do, we’re going to beat them. We’ve got to keep playing. We know that they’re going to come back if we have the lead, and we’ve just got to keep that mindset.” Capela said.

“Sometimes I feel like, in the past, we were all dragging down after mistakes. But today, we were ready. I think that if we’re doing what we’re supposed to do on defense, all the switches, the weak side, and keep playing our offense by keeping that mentality all game long, we have the weapons to beat them.

Although the playoffs have not opened, but now Houston and Golden State have been as exciting as the playoffs, and Houston won two of the three matches between the two sides.

The Rockets have recorded 32-12 record since the season, while the Warriors have 37-10, but the Rockets still think they have the hope to chase the West in the regular season.

“At the mental level, we now have a chance to catch up with the No.1 seed team. Because we had the advantage if both teams were flat in the last record, which is why everyone thinks winning is very important.” Rockets sixth man Eric Gordon said.

“Now that we’re healthy, I think we’re to get back to a big winning streak and get back to doing what we need to do, like we did earlier in the year.

“That’s what we’re rooting for. It’s not an easy thing to do, and we have to adjust ourselves mentally, not completely, every game we have. It’s nothing to do with what the opponent do, it’s about every game we play become better.” Gordon added.

Steve Kerr’s side started well Saturday’s match, they claimed several Warriors players were not concern and even claimed that playing the Rockets is not a problem at all.

Kevin Durant on the other hand, he told it’s just the beginning but he hoped Golden State can play basketball well after the playoffs.
