Moto3 rider Romano Fenati has signed a contract with SpeedUp and will move to the Moto2 classs for 2022 season.
The Italian will become the teammate of Fermin Aldguer and will be the successor to Jorge Navaro, who will leave SpeedUp at the end of the 2021 season.
“I’m really happy to return to the Moto2 class and to do that with SpeedUp and the Boscoscuro machine. We go into the next season with the goal of growing and improving to be competitive right away.” Fenati said.
“I thank Luca Boscoscuro and the whole team for their trust and for believing in me. I’m sure we can achieve excellent results together.” Fenati added.
Fenati made his debut in the Moto3 class in 2012 at the age of 16, taking his first win in the second race of the season. He become runner up in the lightest class of the MotoGP.
The 31-year-old Italian is curently fourth in the championship standings after four podium finishes, including one win.
“We are excited about Romano Fenati coming to SpeedUp because we believe he is a rider with a lot of potential.” SpeedUp boss Boscoscuro said.
“In the coming season we will work together to let Romano showing all his talent. I’m sure that with commitment and determiation we can achieve many goals and add value to our team.” he added.
According to reports, the Japanese Ayumu Sasaki to take Fenati’s place at Sterilgarda Max Racing Moto3 Team in the next season.
SpeedUp in last weekend confirmed that they had been terminated a contract with Yari Montella with immediate effect.
Montella has failed to score a single Moto2 point and has been substitued a number of times this season. His place now took over by Alduquer.
