Russia-Ukraine conflict, Roman Abramovich’s position threatened?

The increasingly heated conflict between Russia and Ukraine can apparently have a bad impact on Roman Abramovich, the big Russian boss who owns Chelsea.

Worse, the Premier League giants could lose the owner, Roman Abramovich.

Abramovich is known as a Russian billionaire who bought the Blues in 2003.

The Abramovich dynasty at Chelsea has succeeded in becoming a pioneer in the football industry completely changing.

Abramovich was also one of the reasons why UEFA implemented Financial Fair Play regulations.

How could he not, he used his money resources to turn Chelsea into a new power in England and even Europe.

They also started to win trophies from various prestigious competitions, from the Premier League to the Champions League.

Unfortunately, that glory could end in the near future. All because of the feud between Russia and Ukraine which is getting hotter lately.

Russia is in the spotlight for carrying out military aggression against Ukraine. As of this writing, Russia is still reportedly continuing to carry out attacks on the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, despite being urged to stop by other countries.

Britain is doing everything it can to punish Russia. Including removing Abramovich, who is known to have close ties to Russian President, Vladimir Putin, from London and confiscate all of his assets.

“Abramovich admitted in court that he paid for political influence,” Rhondda MP Chris Bryant said, quoted by The Sun.

“He is therefore an individual linked to financial embezzlement and libelous activity cannot be in the UK and is using immigration authorities to prevent this.”

Bryant said the documents had been in circulation for three years and that there had been no action against Abramovich.

“Surprisingly nothing has been done about this. Should Abramovich no longer own a football club in this country?” asked Bryant who also posted on Twitter.

On Wednesday (23/2/2022), The Sun reported that Abramovich was effectively barred from living in the UK. All forms of permanent visa applications from him are almost certain to be rejected.

Bryant also emphasized that Abramovich should no longer have the right to hold a football club in England. “Surely Mr Abramovich should no longer be able to own a football club in this country?”

“Surely we have to consider confiscation of some of his assets, including his £152 million home? And ensure that other people who hold a tier one visa like this do not engage in defamatory activities in the UK,” Bryant said.
