Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that Sergio Ramos has pain in the right thigh muscle and needs to be closely monitored in the coming days.
PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino was asked a lot by reporters about Ramos’ injury during the press conference before the match against Nice in the National Cup on Tuesday.
“He has come back from many months out to compete and we have to give him minutes little by little.” Pochettino said.
Ramos joined PSG in the summer of 2021 from Real Madrid on a free transfer but has only played 4 matches due of constant injuries.
When he heard the results of the draw for the knockout round of the Champions League against former his club in March, Ramos expressed interest.
Real Madrid is where Ramos has played for 16 years with many titles, in particular 5 La Liga and 4 Champions League.
However, just 16 days before the match against Los Blancos, Ramos was forced to leave the field at Monday’s training session.
Neymar, meanwhile, has completed his first training session and will be tested again on Monday. Georginio Wijnaldum returns to full training after a medial cruciate ligament injury.
The good news, Pochettino has confirmed that Lionel Messi could start from the start in the match against Nice.
PSG is 11 points ahead of Nice in Ligue 1, but the pressure is great on their managee Pochettino. The domestic tournament is not the top goal of the Paris team anymore, but the Champions League.
The Argentine manager was criticised for not being able to promote his fellow Messi. There is information that he wants to return to the Premier League to work with Manchester United as the next destination.
However, Ramos could reunite with his old manager, Zinedine Zidane after the end of the 2021/22 season.
