AC Milan won an important victory in the 37th week of Serie A against Atalanta. AC Milan vs Atalanta held on Monday (16/5/2022).
Entertaining Atalanta at the San Siro, the Rossoneri came out victorious with a score of 2-0.
It is not easy for Milan to get three points from this match. Because Atalanta again proved themselves as a team that can not be conquered.
Unfortunately, they were not able to maintain their strength until the end of the game.
The two teams competed quite tightly. Milan and Atalanta both have strong defenses. This is the reason why the golden opportunities created in the first few minutes are very minimal.
In the 32nd minute, Atalanta spread a threat to Milan’s goal through the action of Luis Muriel.
His shot from the edge of the box managed to force Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan into a crucial save.
The match continues. Giroud had time to protest strongly because the referee ignored the incident in the penalty box which he felt deserved a penalty. Instead of Milan getting a penalty, he received a yellow card instead.

Atalanta are also trying to catch up, to at least take one point from the Rossoneri headquarters. In the 72nd minute, Ruslan Malinovskiy directed his corner kick right at the head of Duvan Zapata. Unfortunately the attacker failed to target the goal correctly.
Three minutes later, Milan attacked and this time led to a goal.
Theo Hernandez struck with a solo run from the Milan area, past several Atalanta players before scoring.
This second goal seemed to be a heavy blow for Atalanta’s mentality.
AC Milan did not encounter significant difficulties to maintain its advantage until the end of the match.
