Juventus failed to make good use of their home match because they lost to Udinese when playing at the Allianz Stadium, Turin, on Tuesday (13/2/2024). Playing the match in Week 24 of the 2023-2024 Italian League, the team nicknamed the Bianconeri fell with a score of 0-1.
This defeat then made Juventus fail to close the gap with Inter Milan, which is now more comfortably perched in first place in the 2023-2024 Italian League standings with 60 points. Meanwhile, Juventus itself is in second place with 53 points.
Now Juventus’ position is increasingly threatened by Milan, which has pushed into third place. Stefano Pioli’s team is only one point away from Milan!
Playing in front of their own supporters, Juventus intends to recover after they have not tasted victory in the previous two matches. It’s not surprising that Massimiliano Allegri’s team immediately stepped on the gas from the moment the referee blew the match whistle.
Juventus was totally able to dominate the match against Udinese. It is proven that Juventus has more than 70 percent possession of the ball.
Even Juventus was able to create 14 opportunities and eight of them were shots on goal. However, none of these opportunities resulted in a goal.
Meanwhile, Udinese, who only created eight chances, managed to score one goal. Udinese’s goal was created in the 25th minute through Lautaro Gianetti’s action.
Juventus coach, Massimiliano Allegri, is not happy with the results of his team, who have never won in their last three matches in the 2023-2024 Italian League. Allegri hopes that Juventus can recover soon because if the negative trend continues, he is worried that his team will fall out of the top four and miss out on a Champions League ticket next season.
“This is a difficult moment because we only got one point from three matches. We have an important target, namely the Champions League. We have to win again to secure a place in the Champions League,” said Massimiliano Allegri, quoted from Football Italia, Tuesday (13 /2/2024).
Furthermore, Massimiliano Allegri recalled Juventus’ poor results with Empoli. Then, he seemed in disbelief that Udinese was able to beat his team with just one shot on target.
“The last 15 days have not been very pleasant, we played with ten men against Empoli two weeks ago. Tonight, Udinese only had one shot on target while we had three or four chances in the first half,” he explained.
Meanwhile, in the next match, Juventus will try to recover. Because, Dusan Vlahovic and his friends will face Hellas Verona at the Marcantonio Bentegodi Stadium, Sunday (18/2/2024).
