Solskjaer Reacts to Man United 1 PSG 3 in Champions League

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted United 1-3 defeat to Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain on Thursday night at Old Trafford Stadium made his team so frustrated. The defeat has made United even more difficult to qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League.

According to Solskjaer, one of the reasons is that his squad played well but is not too clinical to take advantage of opportunities.

“I think you look back at that game and the chances we created and you feel we deserve to go through. But you need to be more clinical, you need to take your chances, definitely.” Solskjaer said.

“But you’ve got to say the boys did create those moments and chances, that’s the big positive. We should have been more clinical, of course, we know that. More quality with the finish and then you’re celebrating. But that’s football.

“It’s always decided in the boxes with that quality. Sometimes it goes for you, sometimes against you and definitely tonight it went against us. We didn’t deserve to lose.” Solskjaer added.

Solskjaer admitted Thursday night’s game did not impress him with all of the referee’s decisions. However, the Norwegian manager rejected to say about it.

“The reaction from their players is… I have nothing to say about it, you’re in trouble if you start talking about this and the referee.” Solskjaer said.

“I don’t have much to comment on the referee and his players, but it’s football, you’re going to have some when you play in Europe.

“I hear their goal was partly offside as well. For us, where is the balance in the game with the way the referee has approached decisions? We see mistakes week after week, for us, we have to rectify, bring football back to the way it was.” Solskjaer added.

“Like I said, the decisions, the referees, their players, it’s a tough night.I said at halftime that if we don’t get anything from this game we should be disappointed and angry with each other.” he added.

United will face RB Leipzig in their final Champions League group stage on Wednesday. Both teams can score but both teams look vulnerable.
