Spanish League Results: Real Madrid Beat Sevilla 1-0

Real Madrid won 1-0 over Sevilla in the Spanish League continued at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium on Monday (9/23). Compete at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium, Zinedine Zidane fielded Eden Hazard since the early minutes. Gareth Bale, who has returned from suspension, was also played as a starter.

Madrid immediately threatened the Sevilla defense when the game has been running for six minutes. Eden Hazard’s pass is used by Karim Benzema, but the ball is wide of the target.

Sevilla replied four minutes later. Ever Banega made an acrobatic shot, trying to take advantage of the set piece situation from a corner. The score hasn’t changed still 0-0.

The combination of Hazard and Benzema again banged on the defense of Los Sevilistas after the match ran for more than half an hour. This time it was Benzema who gave the bait to Hazard. Goalkeeper Tomas Vaclik dismissed Hazard’s shot.

Vaclik returned to secure the Sevilla goalkeeper from El Real’s chance this time by Dani Carvjal in the 40th minute. Until the first half ended, the goalless draw score remained.

Entering the second half, the game went back tough. Both Sevilla and Madrid have difficulty developing the game. Even until the 60th minute, the host failed to release a single shot on goal.

Until finally, Madrid broke the deadlock in the 64th minute. The one-two collaboration between Bale and Carvajal on the right, ended with a cross to Benzema. The French striker welcomed him with a header, and put the ball into the Sevilla goal. Madrid was winning 1-0.

In a state of lagging, Sevilla tried to increase the intensity of the attacks. Luuk De Jong had a golden opportunity in the 78th minute, but his header was wide alongside Thibaut Courtois’s goal.

Sevilla substitute, Javier Hernandez, also managed to score a goal in the 88th minute, but replays stated he was in an offside position. Until the long whistle sounded, the final result 1-0 to win Madrid remained unchanged.

These results bring Madrid ranked second in the Spanish league standings while achieving 11 points from five matches, only losing on goal difference from the top standings Athletic Bilbao. The Sevilla stuck in fifth place with 10 points.
