Stan Collymore Comments on Cristiano Ronaldo’s Controversial Man United Exit

Former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore gave a brutal response to the news that Cristiano Ronaldo had left Manchester United.

Collymore has believed that the Red Devils are better off without the Portuguese international.

Ronaldo gave a bombshell interview to Piers Morgan last month where he criticised the club and revealed he has ‘no respect’ for manager Erik ten Hag.

As a result, United announced their star man had left the club by mutual consent in a short statement on their website that was posted on Tuesday night.

“His departure means United can finally have closure on what has been a tumultuous few months. Erik ten Hag isn’t going to be asked questions about him week in, week out and we’re not going to be having cameras panning to Ronaldo on the bench.” Collymore said.

“It’s now really vital that if they are going to do any business, it seems to make sense among the United supporter base and they say, ‘Yes, we understand why we are getting that player or selling that one’, or ‘We understand why we are linked with him’.” Collymore added.

Collymore points out what went wrong and what is needed for the Red Devils to get back to the top about the current moment of the club.

“Manchester United have wasted a lot of money over the last few years and need to get back to being a team that club and even football fans can say about, ‘This is the system, this is going to be the eleven eight or ten times and these will be the substitutes and will be released in this or that minute of the game’.” Collymore said.

Ten Hag’s side is currently in fifth place in the Premier League, while Ronaldo is looking for a new career challenge. Everything indicates that the Portuguese international will join Al Nassr.
