Surprising, Leroy Sane dropped from Germany’s World Cup squad

Germany coach, Joachim Loew dropped Manchester City midfielder Leroy Sane from Die Mannschaft’s squad list for the 2018 World Cup. Joachim Loew’s has making this decision before he announced 23 players who will play for Germany National Team because he prefers an attacker of Bayer Leverkusen, Julian Bran, rather than Leroy Sane.

In addition to Leroy Sane, Joachim Loew also opted to cut three other great players, namely Bernd Leno, Nils Peterson, and Jonathan Tah. However, the omitted of Leroy Sane’s name is something very surprising.

In fact, this season, the appearance of 22-year-old youth with Manchester City is very neat. The former Schalke 04 player is able to score 14 goals and 19 assists this season with The Citizens. However, the German Media actually support Loew decision. German sports magazine, Kicker, for examples, assesses Sane’s omitted is reasonable.

“Sane is a fast player, good in one-on-one duels, diligent running, and can help defense, but he has not shown all the qualities of it with the German national team,” the analyst at Kicker said.

Sane’s unimpressive statistics on the German national team are also unconvincing. Since debut, he has played 12 times without scored a goal. Analysis in the daily Sport Bild also implies a similar statement, highlighting Sane’s overly “glamorous” personality, as well as his absence at the 2017 Confederations Cup.

“Sane’s decision not to participate in 2017 Confederations Cup to operate nose is unlikely to be accepted by Joachim Loew.

Perhaps he is not yet mature for 2018 World Cup,” Bild writes.

Frankfurt Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) have different opinions. In its preaching, the FAZ assessed Loew unfairly for choosing over Julian Draxler and Marco Reus who were statistically uncertainty. Loew himself had a reason for his choice. At first, he was on the choice between Sane and Julian Brandt (Bayer Leverkusen).

“This is a very difficult decision between him (Leroy Sane) and Julian Brandt. I finally chose Brandt,” said Joachim Loew quoted from Metro BolaSport.com.
