One week after advancing to the final in Munich, the champion at Delray Beach for the 2024 season advanced to the fourth round of the Madrid Open for the second time in a row, equaling his best finish in the tournament to date.

“I think there is more variety in my game in general,” said Taylor Fritz regarding recent success on clay.

After claiming his first win on clay against a player ranked in the top 20 since beating Stefanos Tsitsipas in Monte Carlo in the 2023 season, he is now 5-3 against players ranked in the top 20 this season.
