Ten Hag: Man United Have Nothing But Finals

Manchester United are still in three different competitions in a grueling run of matches, with manager Erik ten Hag saying he will not prioritize one competition over the other.

“We are approaching this game by game, what can we do?” said Ten Hag after the match against Nottingham Forest as quoted by ESPN.

“We have to win. We are United, we have to win every game,” he continued.

Manchester United’s win over relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest saw them move up to third to cement their place in the Premier League’s top four.

After a 2-2 draw in the first leg against Sevilla, the Red Devils will head to Sevilla for the return match on Friday.

Then they will take on Brighton at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-final next Sunday.

“Points are getting more expensive at this period of the season, because everything is a final, they are really fighting against relegation, they are giving their life and it is every opponent, or they are going to the top, so you have to really do it. fighting and fighting for every point,” said Erik Ten Hag.

Manchester United lost midfielder Marcel Sabitzer on Sunday when he picked up a groin injury in warm-up and also missed Marcus Rashford, Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez.

“Sabitzer came out during the warm-up, he felt something,” said Ten Hag.

“We decided not to risk it, we’ll find out [Monday] what it is. But when you have [Christian] Eriksen on the bench it’s definitely not a loss.”

“Last week I had nine of the best defenders, now I have four,” added Ten Hag. “We need all our players, we are still in three competitions, we need all the players to form a top team.”

Manchester United have surpassed the Premier League points total last season, with 59 points from 30 matches, and still have eight matches remaining.

Diogo Dalot, who scored his first Premier League goal in his 100th appearance in all competitions for Manchester United on Sunday, said his side were in for a “big week”.

“Two decisive games, we want to be in a position to fight for the trophy,” said Diogo Dalot.

“Now we have the opportunity to get close to the final, and to reach the final. Hopefully we win both games,” he concluded.
