The Britain must be credited as the home town of modern-age soccer. England along with Scotland co-founded this systematic game of soccer with the association of football.

After major development in 1815, soccer was made popular in Schools, Colleges and Universities. The Cambridge rules for soccer had been set by the very famous Eton College and English School. After that, two groups of football were formed; some followed the Rugby rules in which shin kicking, tripping and also holding the ball in hands was allowed, some opted for Cambridge rules which strictly prohibited these (Rugby) rules.

1863 established the record of present day soccer. During October 1863, to establish basic rules for controlling the matches, a meeting had been arranged by the London Schools and Clubs at the Tavern of Freemason’s. The Football Association was formed as a result of this meeting.

In 1869, any kind of handling of the football had been strictly banned by the Association of Football. During the 1800s, the introduction of soccer globally was done by the British traders, sailors and soldiers.

In South America, the sport was adopted by Uruguay, Argentina and Brazil while Italians, Austrians and Germans drew to Europe. In 1904, the formation of FIFA took place and various countries handled the operations of numerous leagues during the early 1930s. The first world cup was held in Uruguay organized by FIFA. Soccer is becoming popular globally and soccer holds a rich historical value in the books. This amazing sport has a lot to offer and has been appreciated and wowed at for more than 3 millenniums.
