The Red Devils retainer is fed up with Jadon Sancho

Jadon Sancho is struggling to regain the support of his Manchester United team-mates as well as coach Erik ten Hag following his angry reaction to being dropped during United’s defeat against Arsenal, a source told ESPN.

Jadon Sancho posted a fierce rebuttal on social media to Ten Hag’s post-match claim that he had been left out of the squad at the Emirates due to unsatisfactory training performances, with the England international dismissing the comments as “completely untrue” and saying on his X account that he has been the “scapegoat for a long time.”

But a source told ESPN there was little sympathy for Sancho in United’s dressing room, saying: “The players are fed up with him.”

Sancho’s performances in training and on match days, as well as his attitude at the club, have caused the £73 million ($91 million) signing from Borussia Dortmund to become a minor figure as Ten Hag and his coaching staff grow irritated with the former Manchester City youngster That.

Despite Sancho’s quick reaction to Ten Hag’s comments in Arsenal’s post-match press conference, Sancho has not deleted his post and it remains pinned to the top of his X account, with sources saying the United boss felt no need to clarify or soften his remarks.

Ten Hag twice criticized Cristiano Ronaldo for his behavior before the striker’s departure following the cancellation of a mutually agreed contract last November, while the former Ajax coach also publicly confirmed that Marcus Rashford was excluded from last season’s Premier League game against Wolves because he missed a team meeting. .

Sources said that the players accepted and respected Ten Hag’s firm approach as it applied without exception to members of the squad, regardless of their status, and that Sancho’s reaction was poor in the dressing room, although a source said it was not welcomed.

Sources have told ESPN that Sancho and Ten Hag will hold talks before United’s game against Brighton on September 16 to decide the striker’s future.

United, according to sources, held initial talks with Al Ettifaq FC, the team coached by Steven Gerrard, about a possible loan on Thursday, but a deal was never reached before the Saudi Pro League transfer window closed.

This leaves Ten Hag with a decision to make about whether Sancho will be part of the squad for the first half of the season.

Since signing a five-year contract with United in the summer of 2021, Sancho has scored 12 goals in 82 first-team appearances and recorded six assists.

In his final season with Borussia Dortmund, he scored 16 goals and provided 20 assists in 38 matches in all competitions.
