The Story of Kevin Lee, UFC Fighter Who Claims Islam Has Saved Himself from Drugs

The story of convert Kevin Lee, a UFC fighter who claims Islam has saved himself from drugs, will be discussed by SportReviews. Just to note, Kevin Lee is actually a former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter who was previously a drug addict and not a Muslim.

The 30-year-old athlete had a career at the UFC from 2014 before moving to the Eagle Fight Championship (EFC) on December 15 2021. EFC itself is a fighting organization similar to the UFC owned by former UFC legendary athlete, Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Kevin Lee fights at welterweight class. His record in the world of fighting is 19-7 with the most wins he has scored coming from submissions and numbers which are both eight.

Kevin Lee’s seven defeats came from one KO, three submissions and three points. In addition, the 1.75 meter tall owner has the basic knowledge of Brazilian Jiujitsu martial arts.

In his life story, Kevin Lee had dark days when he had to depend on drugs. Precisely when the fighter from the United States suffered a serious knee injury that could destroy his life.

“I came from straight sin, so I tore my knee and had surgery, I was introduced to pain relief pills,” said Kevin Lee, quoting from About Islam, Wednesday (26/7/2023).

“And once I was introduced to pain pills, then it started spiraling downward through the different drugs and different things that looked like the answers at the time,” continued the 30-year-old American from the United States.

“That’s how I need it to feel whole. I’ve been on the spiral for about a year and a half,” he adds.

But surprisingly, Kevin Lee announced to his fans that he converted to Islam in January 2023. In fact, the 30-year-old fighter has converted to Islam since 2021.

However, he just revealed this year 2023. Kevin Lee also admitted that after converting to Islam, he was saved from the drugs he used to consume before converting to Islam.

“I talked to God, this was even before I became a Muslim. As clear as me and you talking, I felt like God was saying to me, ‘Hey, you’ve been a Muslim all this time. You are Muslim.’” said Kevin Lee.

“I don’t feel like I’m back, I feel like I wake up knowing that’s what I did all the time.”
