West Ham boss David Moyes in no hurry to sign contract extension at London Stadium

West Ham United boss David Moyes insists he is not in hurry to sign a contract extension at London Stadium.

West Ham United manager David Moyes insists he is not in hurry to sign a contract extension at London Stadium, despite the club now being safe from relegation.

The Scot took over the club over Slaven Bilic with the club in 18th place in Premier League standings with 9 points from 11 games. He reportedly signed a short-team deal with West Ham but the club are keen to tie him down to a new and improved long-term deal.

Speaking to media, Moyes said he will delay talks on his the Hammers future until the end of the season, and he would have better focus in their next match.

“We have always said we will talk after the end of the season so we will wait until then. It’s always the way I wanted it and I won’t change my views until we get the last two games out of the way.” Moyes said.

“I don’t think there is any temptation. We are putting things in place, like pre-season, as much as we can, but ultimately I have got a decision to make and the club has as well.” Moyes added.

West Ham are currently sitting in 15th place in Premier League standings with 29 points after playing 25 games under Moyes, they are five points clear of the drop zone.

The 55-year-old manager succeeded and ensured West Ham’s top-flight was retained on last weekend after a 2-0 win away against Leicester City.

“We have picked up points in the last six or seven weeks and showed real togetherness as a group. The players know that if we can win a couple of more games then we can get ourselves higher up the league.” Moyes said.

“Then you might have been thinking, what was the worry about, but overall, I have to say well done to the players.” former Manchester United added.
