Words exchanged between Conte and Mourinho

Chelsea thrashed United 4-0 at Stamford Bridge this Sunday, however more drama was to unfold off the pitch when Antonio Conte urged the home fans to make more noise. This gesture of his didn’t sit too well with former Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho. Reports claim that Mourinho told Conte that his actions had actually caused more humiliation for his side and his return to the Bridge.
Mourinho was fairly well received by his former team, with which he won eight titles. As a result of some poor defending by United and an excellent performance by the Blues, United suffered one of their worst defeats in years at Stamford Bridge. At the end of the match, Jose was seen to be whispering into Conte’s ear, reports now claim that the Portuguese expressed his displeasure over Conte’s exaggerated celebration at the end of the game.
“You don’t celebrate like that at 4-0, you can do it at 1-0 and otherwise it’s humiliating for us.” – Mourinho. (Reports claimed)
As a response to which Antonio Conte replied
“There was no incident, it was just a normal thing to do. I wasn’t mocking anyone, I wouldn’t do that,” said Conte.
“Today it was right to call our fans in a moment when I was listening to only the supporters of Manchester United at 4-0.” Conte
“The players, after a 4-0 win, deserved a great clap. It’s very normal. If we want to cut the emotion we can go home and change our job.”

Mourinho apologized to the United fans and took the responsibility as the leader in the dressing room. Jose also said that the only way to bounce back was to keep training on Monday and come back even stronger
“To the millions of fans we have around the world they have a bad feeling and I am so sorry for that,” said Mourinho.
“I have to apologise as the leader of the dressing room and the only thing I can say is I’m 100% Man Utd, not 99% for Man Utd and 1% for Chelsea.
“I feel deeply the situation but there is only one answer, training on Monday and keep fighting.”
On the contrary, Conte’s post-match press conference was positive and talked about the new 3-4-3 combination that worked in the favor of the Blues and helped them to avoid conceding a goal.
“We wanted to show our ambition and give the satisfaction to our fans and show last season was very bad,” he said.
“It is important for the manager to find the right solution for your team.
“It was not a good situation when Chelsea conceded in every game, we change and now we are playing good football.”
Chelsea now sit in fourth place with 19 points, behind Liverpool, Arsenal (both on 19 points) and Manchester City (20 points). They now face West Ham in League Cup Round of 16. Manchester United slump down to seventh spot and will face their neighbors Manchester City in the League Cup Round of 16 on Thursday
