Germany won 4-1 victory over Armenia in the continued match of Group J 2022 World Cup Qualification at the Republican Stadium, Yerevan, Monday (15/11).

In the first half, Germany immediately appeared to attack. Evidently, Leroy Sane’s hard kick at the beginning of the match had hit Stanislav Buchnev’s goal post. Kai Havertz came close to giving Germany the lead in the fourth minute but his shot only grazed the outside of the Armenian post.

Germany opened the scoring in this match when the game had only been running for 15 minutes. Players who strengthen Chelsea, Kai Havertz managed to break into the Armenian goal to change the score to 1-0.

Havertz calmly hit the ball with his left foot from inside the penalty box using a cross by Jonas Hofmann.

After the goal, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and colleagues did not want to remain silent. The attack was built, but to no avail.

Germany continued to dominate the game after winning 1-0. However, the goal that doubled the visitors’ advantage was only created in the first half of injury time.

A foul on German midfielder Florian Neuhaus by an Armenian player led the referee to point to the penalty spot. Ilkay Gundogan who advanced as an executor managed to carry out his duties perfectly to make the score 2-0.

At the beginning of the second half, Gundogan managed to increase Germany’s advantage to 3-0. The Manchester City player’s shot was not perfectly caught by the Armenian goalkeeper, Stanislav Buchnev, who made the ball roll into the goal.

Armenia did not remain silent despite trailing 0-3. The hosts’ hard work paid off with a goal from the penalty spot which was executed perfectly by Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the 59th minute.

But the score 1-3 only lasted five minutes. Hansi Flick’s side took the lead to 4-1 thanks to Hofmann’s goal.

Based on statistics, Die Mannschaft excels in ball possession with a percentage of 75% compared to 25%. Then Germany also recorded nine shots towards the goal from a total of 19 shots. Meanwhile, Armenia fired four shots but only one led to the goal.

For Germany, this is the second fantastic result they picked during the international break this time. Previously they massacred Liechtenstein 9-0 on matchday 9.

Germany itself has been confirmed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup since matchday 8 last. While Armenia is ranked fourth with 12 points.
