NewCastle United are struggling to make their squad even stronger. A number of players are now being targeted to be recruited in the 2022 winter transfer market, including a row of Manchester United players.

Reportedly, Newcastle are eyeing three Manchester United players who are being marginalized. They are also ready to show their financial strength in the January transfer market.

The Magpies, Newcastle’s nickname, has just appointed Eddie Howe as the new coach. This appointment comes when Steve Bruce was fired at the end of October 2021.

According to the Daily Mirror, Newcastle have a budget of 50 million pounds in the January transfer window with bigger funds in the transfer market next summer. Manchester United have some star players who are not often played and this situation is taken advantage of by Newcastle.

Here are three Man United players who are targeted by Newcastle:

3. Dean Henderson

Goalkeeper Dean Henderson reportedly wants to leave Old Trafford in the near future because it is difficult to replace David de Gea as the main goalkeeper.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Henderson admits the possibility of leaving in January is too small. Apart from losing to competition, Henderson wants to play regularly in order to be called up to the England national team for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

2. Donny van de Beek

Besides Henderson, Dutch midfielder Donny van de Beek is another Man United player targeted by Newcastle. Van de Beek is known to be frustrated at being rarely given a chance to play by coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer which has made his team-mates sympathize.

He reportedly wants to immediately find a new club in January if the situation at Man United does not change. Van de Beek was brought in from Ajax with a tag of 35 million pounds in the summer of 2020.

1. Jesse Lingard

Jesse Lingard’s future is also unclear. The contract of the Manchester United academy dropout will expire next summer.

Just like Henderson, Lingard is determined to be included in the England squad for the Qatar World Cup next year. However, his lack of playing time at Old Trafford this season has threatened his chances of being called up by Gareth Southgate.

Lingard could join Newcastle for free next summer, but they are ready to sign the 28-year-old striker for a reduced fee in January.
