5-0 Goal Party against Burnley, Mikel Arteta: Arsenal Not Satisfied!

Arsenal coach, Mikel Arteta, emphasized that his team was not satisfied, despite their landslide win over Burnley in Week 25 of the 2023-2024 Premier League. Even though in that match, Arsenal scored 5-0.

Mikel Arteta himself was happy with Arsenal’s landslide victory. The reason is, the players showed good performance.

“Yes, of course I am very happy with the performance and results, both individually and as a team. The contribution of each player is very good and in fact the team seems to want more,” said Mikel Arteta, quoted from Arsenal’s official website, Sunday (18/2/2024).

Furthermore, Mikel Arteta admitted that Arsenal was not satisfied with the 5-0 win and still wanted more goals. Apart from that, he hopes that the Gunners can dominate even more and be able to control the opposing team’s defense.

“They are not satisfied, they want to score more goals and don’t want to concede, so I am very happy to see that consistency. Yes, obviously we want to dominate the game and play in the opponent’s defensive area as much as possible,” explained Arteta.

Yes, Arsenal succeeded in winning big when they visited Burnley’s headquarters, namely Turf Moor Stadium, Saturday 17 February 2024. Martin Odegaard (4′) and Bukayo Saka’s penalty (41′) gave Arsenal the lead in the first half.

Then, there were three additional goals scored in the second half. Goals from Bukayo Saka (47′), Leandro Trossard (66′), and Kai Havertz (78′) closed the Gunners’ victory party.

A convincing victory over Burnley allowed Arsenal to overtake Manchester City to take over second place in the 2023-2024 Premier League standings. The team from London has collected 55 points, two points behind Liverpool in first place.

Apart from getting full points, Arsenal was also able to make the highest achievement in terms of scoring goals. Because Arsenal scored 24 goals from set pieces, including penalty kicks, which is their highest record in one Premier League season since 2004-2005.

Now, Arsenal will maintain their winning momentum to achieve positive results in the Champions League. Because, they will face FC Porto in the first leg of the last 16 of the Champions League which will take place at Dragao Stadium, Thursday 22 February 2024.
