5 Teams Mourinho Can Go To After Tottenham's Sack

5 Teams Mourinho Can Go To After Tottenham’s Sack

Jose Mourinho must accept the harsh reality at Tottenham Hotspur. The Special One was fired following the poor results achieved by Tottenham in domestic and European competitions.

Mourinho, who was expected to give the title to Tottenham, could not do much. The former Inter Milan and Real Madrid coach was unable to make Tottenham consistently compete at the top and has certainly failed in the Europa League.

Mourinho’s dismissal is the third in a row after Manchester United and Chelsea. However, it seems that Mourinho’s charm will still attract the interest of big teams in the future.

Here are five teams that may be Mourinho’s next destination after being sacked by Tottenham:

1. Juventus

Juventus are not doing well with Andrea Pirlo. The team from Turin is struggling to be consistent under Pirlo’s hand.

Juventus have almost certainly failed to defend the scudetto they have won in the last nine years. In the Champions League, Juventus’ steps have also been stopped by Porto in the last 16.

This bad report card is not impossible for Juventus management to turn to another coach at the end of the season. If this is done then Mourinho could be one of the candidates.

2. Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain have just started their project with coach Mauricio Pochettino. Pochettino himself is the coach who was replaced by Mourinho at Tottenham Hotspur.

Together with Pochettino, PSG is not a team that is able to appear consistently in every match. However, PSG still maintains their chance to become champions in Ligue 1 and has confirmed tickets to the Champions League semifinals.

Mourinho will find it difficult to join PSG if Pochettino successfully presents the Champions League title. However, if that cannot be done then the possibility of looking for a coach who has proven to have successfully awarded the title could be a possible option for club management.

3. Bayern Munich

Bayern is likely to be left by Hansi Flick at the end of the season. The indication in that direction is getting clearer as Flick wants to end the partnership with Die Roten.

A vacant position in the seat of Munich coach could be Mourinho’s next goal. The Special One is also worthy of being a candidate with a series of achievements he has achieved while being a coach.

Mourinho’s profile also fits Bayern as a big team. Although recently Mourinho began to lose touch in formulating team strategy.

4. England

Working as coach of the England national team may also be Mourinho’s next goal. Moreover, Gareth Southgate’s work since becoming the coach of The Three Lions still invites doubts.

In terms of big names, Southgate is definitely nothing compared to Mourinho. The Portuguese coach also has a lot of experience in handling players.

Mourinho also never closed the opportunity to train the national team. The England national team can also be the next port because the FA are not allergic to foreign coaches like when they appointed Sven-Goran Eriksson and Fabio Capello.

5. Portugal

The position of Portugal coach is currently still occupied by Fernando Santos. The name Santos is also known because he succeeded in delivering Selecao das Quinas to win the 2016 European Cup.

Santos has led Cristiano Ronaldo et al since 2014. This togetherness could end if Portugal achieved a disappointing result at the 2020 European Cup.

If that happens then Mourinho deserves to be a successor. Moreover, Mourinho has long harbored the desire to become the coach of the Portuguese national team.
