Former WBO world championship Sergey Koavalev could find one of three belts he lost to Andre Ward, according to WBO.
Koavalev lost his last two games against ward by a unanimous decision on November 19, then by KOO on June 17. Before these two fights, he held the belts of the WBO, the World Boxing Association (WBA) and the international Boxing Federation.
The WBO has decided on Thursday to agree the fight between Koavalev and Vyacheslav Shabranskyy on November 25, at Madison Square Garden, New York, for the title vacated by Ward after abandoned all three titles when he announced his retirement on September 21.
The Russian boxer revealed he is now very pleased and being trained by famous boxing coach Abror Tursun pulatov.
“There is a general understandingof what we have to do and how to prepare, and this is the main thing. I hope that our new orking relationship will bring new success in my career as a boxer,” Kovalev said to media.
For his coach, Tursunpulatov, he believes that he can help his man in a lot of areas to improve his boxing styles since defeated by Ward.
“I’ve known Kovalev for long time. A year ago, after the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, I came to America with my student, who is also a professional boxer.” Tursunpulatov said.
“Here we got to know Sergey more closely, and since then we are actually one team. I could not refuse his request to work with him. I like Kovalev as a peron, we have excellent mutual understabdings.” he added.
