John Danaher revealed that UFC middleweight champion Georges St-Pierre will be able back to the Octagon is uncertain after he claimed to be caught with health problems in last December.
The Canadian fighter (26-2) had claimed that he was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis shortly after he left his middleweight belt, 33 days after his victory over Michael Bisping at UFC 217.
“The truth is, no one knows if GSP will to fight again, because it’s all about medical problems.” Danaher said on Monday.
“Georges had a problem with his stomach. I don’t pretend to be a medical expert, but it’s one of the most frustrating things that Georges has to live on because some parts of the human body are just out of your control, as is the case with the stomach.” Danaher added.
St-Pierre and his team have reported the troubles encountered during his training camp which implied a significant weight gain in last November.
Forced to go to the hospital, the 36-year-old had reached the point of no longer worrying about the fight, but for an even bigger issue.
“I told them I was going to try to do another workout. If it works so much better, otherwise maybe we will cancel. But it went very well during the last two weeks of the training camp and everything is back to normal,” St-Pierre said.
“I was worried about my health, but the blood test results were negative. It was not a cancer or an ulcer. It’s in the cloakroom that I ask myself this question. I ask myself before each fight. “God, what am I doing here?” I still stepped into the dishes.” he added.

St-Pierre also explained the psychological theory that allows him to turn into a great fighter at UFC.
“What happens is that you try to put on a mask. You want to show a face of trust, you want to appear as if it’s impossible to fail. This is the James-Lange theory. In general, your mind dominates your physique, but the opposite can happen.” St-Pierre said.
“When I walk towards the octagon, a psychological transformation is done. I’m starting to believe myself, I believe my own lie and it gives me confidence and my fear goes.” he added.
St-Pierre was actually contracted to fight Aussie Robert Whittaker, but it may have to wait a while after battling an illness.
