Tyson Fury will fight WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on February 22, 2020. It will be a rematch of their thrilling clash two years ago.
Fury’s new coach Sugar Hill Steward has said 2020 is going to be a huge year for ‘The Gypsy King’ and want him to be undisputed heavyweight champion.
“You can group Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder being one-punch guys. They don’t have some of the other things Tyson does, but Tyson can also get you out there with one punch. Tyson has character and charisma and that strong desire to win.” Steward said.
“2020 is going to be a huge year for Tyson. The way I was brought up, I want him to be undisputed heavyweight champion.” Steward added.
Steward, formerly known as Javan ‘Sugar’ Hill, is the nephew of one of boxing’s greatest trainers, Emanuel ‘Manny’ Steward. He met Fury in 2010 for first time.
“I’m not a big talker, really. Me and Tyson are on the same page. We speak about things we’re going to work on. We’re in agreement. We’re satisfied and I think he can do the job. It’s a perfect combination. 2020 is a good year. All this positive energy is going to put us in the right place.” Steward said.
“As a trainer, I’m happy with what Fury says he’s going to do. He knocks him out in the second round, we can go home.” he added.
Many believe Fury was robbed on the first fight, Wilder, who retains his WBC belt after 12 rounds of pulsating action, had Fury on the canvas twice at the Staples Center in Los Angeles but was unable to deliver the knockout he had promised his fans.
The Brit, who won the unified world title from Wladimir Klitschko in 2015 only to lose his belts as he battled depression, alcohol and drug problems.
