Juventus coach, Andrea Pirlo, admitted that his team experienced positive developments ahead of the match against Lazio. According to him, Juventus have returned to the right track after midweek’s 4-1 win over Ferencvaros.
Prior to this match, Juventus had an inconsistent match. However, this week Juventus showed that they have returned to their best form, especially from midfield and forward.
“We have some interesting pointers in terms of performance and how we develop the attacking game from midfield,” said Pirlo, quoting from Football Italia, Sunday (8/11/2020).
However, Pirlo also emphasized that his side will continue to improve the team’s performance from the attacking side. In addition, the midfield will also be the center of attention by making the midfielders appear more attacking.
“We occupy the attacking space well and that’s positive, so while we still need to improve on this and we are on the right track to play a different football to what this team used to do in the past,” he continued.
“The goals from midfielders are important and we are working to make more of them to push forward, like Adrien Rabiot and Weston McKennie,” he continued.
“What I want to see is the team with more confidence and that dominates the game. That could be a big step forward to take, “he added.
The match against Lazio will also be a test in itself for Pirlo to implement this dominating strategy. The big match will take place at the Stadio Olimpico, Sunday (8/11/2020) evening WIB.
Meanwhile, he also praised the impact Alvaro Morata has made in recent games. In the match against Ferencvaros, the Spanish passport player scored two goals and solidified his name as the temporary top scorer of the 2020-2021 Champions League with four goals.
“I always knew Morata was a complete player and not just finished, so what he did in the last game was no surprise. He’s always involved in the game and always pays attention to it, “he concluded.
