Luis Enrique gave an important message to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) players ahead of the match against Real Sociedad. He emphasized that the Les Parisiens players – PSG’s nickname – must win the ball as quickly as possible and try not to lose the ball.
PSG will host Txuri-Urdin – Real Sociedad’s nickname – in the first leg of the last 16 of the 2023-2024 Champions League. The match will be held at the Parc des Princess, Paris, France on Thursday (15/2/2024).
Ahead of the match, Luis Enrique gave an important message to PSG players so they could beat Real Sociedad. He asked Kylian Mbappe and colleagues to win the ball as quickly as possible and try not to lose the ball.
“It’s very simple; we have to take the ball from them as soon as possible and then try not to lose it,” said Luis Enrique, quoted from PSG’s official website, Wednesday (14/2/2024).
On the other hand, Luis Enrique called Real one of the best teams in the 2023-2024 Champions League by being the team with the fewest goals conceded. The former Spanish national team coach assessed that Txuri-Urdin played to a very high standard.
“Real Sociedad is one of the teams that has conceded the fewest goals so far in this competition. They didn’t manage to score. Everything was easy for their opponents, and they pressed aggressively,” explained Luis Enrique.
“They are one of the best teams in the competition, having made it through a group that had one of last season’s finalists in it, and they are clearly playing to a very high standard. Are we favorites or underdogs? We have to answer that on the pitch,” he added .
Furthermore, Luis Enrique praised Real Sociedad coach Imanol Alguasil to the skies. “Imanol is a great coach. He feels at home there and has an interesting philosophy,” he concluded.
