Arsenal coach, Mikel Arteta, commented on the results of the match against Newcastle United in the 2023-2024 Premier League. Finding his team successfully winning 4-1, Arteta said Arsenal deserved to win because they performed extraordinary.
Arsenal vs Newcastle took place at the Emirates Stadium, Saturday (24/2/2024). The Gunners led 2-0 in the first half through Sven Botman’s own suicide and Kai Havertz’s goal.
Arsenal added two other goals after the break through Bukayo Saka and Jakub Kiwior. Newcastle scored a consolation goal through Joe Willock.
Arsenal is still in third place, but now has 58 points to stay close to Liverpool and Manchester City. Newcastle is in eighth place with 37 points.
Mikel Arteta’s troops immediately appeared to attack from the start of the match. On the other hand, Newcastle had difficulty taking possession of the opponent’s ball.
Arsenal got a new goal in the 18th minute to change the score to 1-0. A header from Gabriel Magalhaes created chaos in the Newcastle goalmouth, which resulted in an own goal from Sven Botman.

Arteta said Newcastle United continued to put up tough resistance, even though in the end they lost badly. Therefore, he was quite happy that Arsenal could overcome the opposing team’s resistance.
“They played with courage against the team and we were rewarded,” explained Arteta.
“I think we fully deserved to win this game,” he continued.
