Meanwhile, in the other match, Jordan managed to make a surprise by advancing to the quarter-finals. The Chivalrous – the nickname of the Jordanian National Team – won dramatically 3-2 over Iraq.

After that, the match was quite fierce. Both teams played with high intensity and traded attacks even though they didn’t produce a goal until the 30th minute

The Lions of Canaan – the nickname of the Palestinian National Team – successfully opened their lead in the 37th minute through Oday Dabbagh’s kick. Winning 1-0 made Makram Dabboub’s troops even more confident in launching attacks on host Qatar’s defense.

Meanwhile, Qatar tried to score an equalizer with the remainder of the first half. Finally they managed to equalize the score at 1-1 through Hassan Al Haydos’ goal in the 45+6 minute.

After halftime, Al Annabi – the nickname of the Qatar National Team – was awarded a penalty in the 49th minute. Akram Alif, who was the executioner, carried out his duties well, bringing Qatar to turn the situation around to lead 2-1 over Palestine.

Palestine looked quite difficult to score the equalizing goal. Because, they were forced to rely on counterattacks because Qatar quite controlled the flow of the match.

Until the match entered the 80th minute, no additional goals had been scored. Both teams appeared determined to score goals. Although neither Qatar nor Palestine have been able to create any golden opportunities.

In the end, Qatar managed to close the match with a narrow 2-1 victory over Palestine. This result gives them the right to advance to the quarter-finals of the 2023 Asian Cup. In that round, they will face the winner of the match between Uzbekistan and Thailand.
