Alex Albon, Williams Formula 1 driver, is currently focused at a long term relationship with the current team. He insists to remain at the current team rather than to jump on to Red Bull.

The Thai driver has shown his class this season with impressive races, especially at Canada. He drove brilliantly for Williams and held off intense pressure for the seventh place. The same race performance rewarded him with F1 Driver of the Day Award by the fans.

Christian Horner, his former boss at Red Bull, applauded his form and performance at the same venue. The praise speculated that he could earn back his race seat at Red Bull which he lost in 2020.

But Albon is comfortable at racing for Williams F1 team. He insists that he had no desire whatsoever to move from the team.

The Thai driver rejected any chances of returning to its old team Red Bull. He siad: “Truthfully, I think you see it already now, where my main focus is with this team.

“You can see this isn’t a short-term situation. I am here for the long run. And I’m really enjoying working with the team, being where I am.

“I do feel like we are on a journey. I do want to continue this journey. Let’s see how these next few years unfold, but for now, I am very happy where I am.”

Albon shared his opinion on the Horner’s positive comments and claim that both have been in regular contact. Moreover, he insists the comments are usual.

“Christian is always messaging me, telling me good job and all this kind of thing,” added Albon. “It’s always nice to have that relationship with an old team principal boss, I guess you could say.

“It was a great weekend for us [in Canada] and obviously nice of Christian to say that.”

Albon is not aiming for the podiums at this time. Nonetheless, he insists on enjoying racing for the Williams.

“I’d say I am in a good place mentally. That’s for sure,” he said. “I definitely feel like I’m playing an important role in Williams.

“I can’t speak for the other drivers [at the team] but the time I had at Red Bull was, at least internally in my eyes, well managed. It was quite a normal race team in that sense.”
